SureFly the personal helicopter/EVTOL aircraft designed for safe and easy flight – completely conceived, designed, built and tested in America by Workhorse – has taken flight, completing its first successful, manned, untethered hover outside of Cincinnati. This video is a progress report of the past few months’ work leading up to lift off. Workhorse is the only company with the necessary FAA experimental certification to test this type of vehicle in the United States. The team is working closely with the FAA, which had a representative on site for the test.

Developed for DJI, a major chinese technology company, foster + partners’ design is currently under construction in shenzhen. the buildings’ floors are arranged in floating volumes cantilevered from central cores by large steel megatrusses. this creates large, column-free spaces including quadruple-height drone flight testing labs. meanwhile, a public exhibition gallery is found at ground level, alongside a theater for product launches conceived as a ‘creative community in the sky’, staff facilities include state-of-the-art gymnasiums and robot fighting rings. ‘our aim is to create a unique workplace environment that embodies the spirit of invention and innovation that has allowed DJI to lead the world in robotics and technology,’ says grant brooker, head of studio at foster + partners.

We thought this would be fun to show because it's pretty cool and creative. University of Tokyo students built a drone from ducted fans that can transform to fit into unique spaces. Utilizing a ducted fan model, the 12 piece drone can fly for up to 3 minutes and transform in flight. Amazing what you can do with drones, especially with such innovative thinking!

Thanks to a new type of drone that gives users the experience of flying. The device was developed by researchers at Yonsei University. They attached a camera on the drone and connected it to a set of virtual reality goggles.The person wearing the goggles can directly see what the drone sees while it′s in flight. The scientists also equipped the drone with special sensors... that pick up signals from the pilot′s body movements and fly the drone in the same direction.

Horizon Energy Systems was featured on FOX NEWS at AUVSI 2015, to showcase a unique 4 hour multi-rotor UAV, powered by its ultra-light hydrogen fuel cells. The HYCOPTER UAV uses its frame structure as a hydrogen storage, eliminating approximately 6 lbs of battery from its lift power requirement.

Drone voor 'goed' is een internationale competitie met $1m aan hoofdprijs, waar nieuwe toepassingen voor drones worden gedemonstreerd met als doel : inzet van drones om het leven van mensen te verbeteren.
Technology that allows a drone to be piloted from the ground using only a person's brainwaves has been demonstrated in Portugal. The company behind the development, Tekever, said the technology could in the short term be used to enable people with restricted movement to control aircraft.

Skyward, a leading software platform for the aerial robotics ecosystem, announced the Urban Skyways Project, the first end-to-end demonstration of a commercial drone network operated with full regulatory and insurance compliance. Skyward is partnering with NASA to incorporate technology and research from their UAS Traffic Management (UTM) System into the Urban Skyways Project. The first demonstrations will take place in Las Vegas, Vancouver, London, and Portland, Ore. Each city will showcase drone deliveries, emergency-response capabilities, and network coordination.

The ambulance-drone is capable of saving lives with an integrated defibrillator. The goal is to improve existing emergency infrastructure with a network of drones.

The StratoBus project may immediately call to mind Google's Project Loon. But the advantage of StratoBus is that it offers long endurance and complete autonomy from a fixed position, while the high-altitude balloons in Loon move around the Earth and will offer only limited autonomy. StratoBus, a surprising vehicle halfway between a drone and a satellite, will be able to carry out a wide range of missions, including observation, security, telecommunications, broadcasting and navigation... and it offers a lifespan of five year.
